Innovative residential scheme in the heart of Cambridge City wins Planning Approval
04 February 2010
Hill Residential Ltd is delighted to have received planning consent from Cambridge City Council for a development of 11 apartments on the Old Maltings site, Prospect Row, Cambridge.
This unique site, in the heart of the city, provided a number of design challenges which have ultimately resulted in a highly innovative residential development solution. The scheme will bring new life to this neglected but important site, and provide a development that is both attractive and sympathetic to its conservation area surroundings.
This is an intimate scheme, providing a mix of four studio and seven one-bed apartments arranged around a series of hidden and private courts and gardens. A new street frontage is provided to Prospect Row through the introduction of a two-storey corner terrace, access is via a gated courtyard off Warkworth Street which leads to the sunken gardens and apartments of the Maltings building.
The scheme includes a car club vehicle which will be available for use by all residents.
Work is due to commence on this exciting scheme in Spring 2010.
